Our Professional Techniques Produce Superior Results

Responsive Design

  • What Responsive Design is: “Responsive Design” is designing web pages to be visually appealing and to function correctly at all expected screen resolutions - from the smallest smart phone to the widest of wide screen monitors. All of your web pages will be designed to be visually appealing and to function correctly under all of these screen resolutions and many more.
  • Currently (2016) we test each and every web page for correct operation at all screen widths from 320 pixels to 1920 pixels.
  • We also test each and every web page for correct appearance and operation using multiple browsers, including but not limited to all of the browsers in this chart that have more than 2% use.
  • Finally, we test each and every web page for correct appearance when text size is changed. You may not realize it, but with most browsers you can change the size of the text on web pages. So: potentially every user has their text size set differently, and we make sure that your web pages appear as expected and function as expected at several different text sizes.

Validated HTML and CSS

All of the “code” in each and every one of your web pages is validated using the W3C validation services. This means that all the web pages we produce comply with HTML and CSS standards, and that means that your web pages should appear and function correctly in current and future browsers.

Compliance with WCAG 1.0 & 2.0 AAA Standards

  • What WCAG means: WCAG is the standard for producing web pages that are accessible for people with vision and hearing disabilities.
  • What AAA means: AAA is the strictest WCAG standard. Following this standard means that we make your web pages more accessible for all internet users than is the typical. (Very many web pages do NOT comply with WCAG AAA standards.)
  • How we do it: We use tools developed in-house to produce color schemes and text that complies with AAA standards. Then we manually check every single item on every web page for compliance with the AAA standard.
  • Note: Some customers prefer traditional company color schemes or other features that do not comply with WCAG standards. Upon request we will produce web pages that are not fully WCAG AAA compliant.

Typographer’s Conventions

You may not have noticed, but we use the appropriate “typographer’s” punctuation in all of our web pages. In fact, we’ve just used a great example. Notice the difference between the default keyboard punctuation and the more professional-looking typographer’s:
“Typographer’s”
"Typographer's (not)"
Typographer’s punctuation really has to be added by hand because of the way that the different browsers display (actually, fail to display) the proper punctuation in the proper places. Now that you know the difference, you’ll notice that even some of the world’s most popular web sites don’t follow this fundamental standard of publishing…and web page publication is most definitely publishing.
